How it works

Off-stage handled.
Here's exactly how.

What happens when a venue sends an inquiry. How a band joins the roster. What the booker does, what the band does, what we promise. Plain English, no contracts in footnote font.

For venues, promoters, private events

One pass. One reply. One yes-or-no answer.

  1. 01

    Send the request

Open the booking form on the band's page or the agency-level /book. Date, city, event type, budget, message. Takes 90 seconds.

  2. 02

    It lands with the booker

The inquiry routes to the band's booker via The Bandstand. The band sees it too, can mark status and drop context for the booker.

  3. 03

    Reply within 7 days

Booker replies with what's possible — date, rate, scope, setup options (solo / full band). If it's not a fit, you'll hear that with the reason.

  4. 04

    You confirm, the band plays

Once both sides agree, the band's Shows page updates with the date. Your venue gets the act it picked. The Bandstand handles the off-stage work.

The promises

Response promise

Reply within 7 days to every inquiry. No ghosting. If it's not a fit, you'll hear that with the reason.

Contact privacy

Personal contact details for band members are never exposed publicly. Inquiries route through the agency only.

No paid placement

Every band on the public roster is presented equally. No sponsored slots, no featured-for-pay. If that changes, it'll be declared.

Honest dates

A show goes on a band's calendar when it's actually on. Cancellations and sold-outs are marked in real time. No phantom dates to inflate the listing.

For bands

Bandstand is a working agency for working bands. We rep the act, run the public site, handle the inbox, keep the EPK send-ready, maintain the fan list, and route bookings to you. You stay on the music.

Application is open but not blind. We listen. We look at what you do live. We say yes to a call or we say "not right now, here's why" — never silence.

Frequently asked

How fast do you reply to a booking inquiry?+

Within 7 days. Every inquiry, every time. If the date isn't possible, you'll hear that too — we don't ghost.

Do you take a percentage or charge a fee?+

Bands talk to the booker about how representation works. From a venue's side, you pay the band's quoted fee — no surcharge on top from the agency for using us.

Will my contact info be shared with anyone besides the band's booker?+

No. Inquiries go to the band's booker only. Personal contact details for band members are never exposed publicly. Public booking email + the booking form are the only sanctioned channels.

Is any band on your roster a paid placement?+

No. Every band on the public roster is presented equally. No sponsored slots. If that ever changes, it'll be declared on the page and in /agent.json.

How does a band join the roster?+

Send a note from /apply with a few specifics. We listen, we look at what you're doing live, we either say 'yes, let's do a call' or 'not right now, here's why.' No pitch deck required.

Can an AI agent draft a booking inquiry for me?+

Yes — and the AI must hand the draft back to you to review and submit. Agents are explicitly blocked from auto-sending. See /llms.txt and /agent.json for the full contract.

What happens after I send a booking inquiry?+

It lands in the band's inbox via The Bandstand. The band sees it, marks it for the booker, drops any context for the booker (their note column). The booker drafts and sends the reply within 7 days.

What if the band cancels or a show changes?+

Show status (scheduled / sold out / cancelled) is maintained in real time on the band's Shows page. Cancellations show up there immediately. The booker also reaches out to anyone who already submitted an inquiry for that date.
